The famous track “Manike Mage Hithe” sung by Sri Lankan singer-songwriter Yohani Diloka de Silva (aka Yohani) will be part of the soundtrack for the movie “Thank God” starring Ajay. Devgn.
The singer said it was very challenging for her to record the song in Hindi.
“Learning the language was the biggest challenge,” she said.
Yohani adds: I’m essentially the voice of another actress. It was the first time something like that, because pronunciation, textures and dynamics completely change during recording. ”
The singer credited the entire team for supporting her throughout this journey.
“I had to record it many times to achieve the correct pronunciation and necessary emotion, but the team’s encouragement made everything feel fun,” she said.
The song was composed by Tanishk Bagchi, famous for tracks like “Bolna” (Kapoor & Sons) and “Ve Maahi” (“Kesari”).
On introducing Yohani to Bollywood and making the song part of the film, Bagchi said:
He added: A new flavor was added to the song, making it a notch higher. Yohani has her amazing talent and potential and working with her was a whole new experience as she had so much to offer as well. ”
About working with Baguchi, Yohani said: I am away from home learning a new language but everyone makes me feel at home. I look forward to working with him on many more projects. ”
