Saif Ali Khan’s career has been spectacular. He has played his second lead, antagonist and protagonist all with equal fluency. Now in his latest avatar as an Encounter Cop vikram vedas Saif confronts Hrithik Roshan’s overwhelming presence. In an exclusive conversation with Firstpost, Wallet talks about his concerns as an open-minded actor.
Vikram Vedha comes at a time when the entertainment industry is at its weakest. Were you confident in this movie and why?
I am really worried and worried that the movie is not doing well. It’s a business and it’s affected. Terminology is starting to be determined by different platforms. For the film industry to operate in a healthy and creative way, it is very important that the films succeed at the box office. To do that, of course, it is necessary to make a movie that the audience will love. Sometimes it’s disappointing to read reviews about forgetting to make a movie. Now outsiders are coming to Bollywood to teach us how to make good movies.
How are you coping with this creative crisis in Bollywood?
I keep waiting when the next great script comes out.was confident about vikram vedas, because at its core it was a great story. It’s as easy as that. that is our job. we tell stories. Vikram Vedha has a good story. We dress up the story with handsome actors, heroic shots, etc. We are pleased with what the critics have written about Vikram Vedha.
There aren’t many A-listers doing two hero projects these days. What made you like this film with Hrithik Roshan?
Again, it’s roles and scripts. It was the title roll. Not recently, but in the past I’ve made a lot of movies about two heroes. But this was worth it. I did it regardless of who had the role of the other hero.
How was your relationship with Hrithik?
it was great to work with RitikWe shared a good equation. Being such a movie star, he acts so well. It was nice to observe him and absorb some of his actions. But the real reason is because I saw the original. It’s rare for the two main characters to play the same role in such a well-balanced script, so I wasn’t worried about what my role would be.
Some of the recent picks, such as Bhoot Police and Bunty Babli 2, have turned out to be wrong. Do you regret some of your recent or not-so-recent past choices?
You make your choices and you live with them.I certainly don’t think boot police Actually it was a mistake. I loved the script and I loved my role. It sold to Disney + Hotstar for a very decent price. It remains one of the most watched movies on that platform and they are very keen to make a sequel. I don’t know if you would call it a mistake. I think it’s a successful venture.
And Bunty Aur Babli?
There are many reasons to make movies. Honestly, the main reason I did this was to work with Aditya Chopra again. Aditya and I have had some… misunderstandings in the past. This was our way of patching together. I bowed to his understanding of the market and the way family movies should be. Again, not wrong. That’s how things are. So I have no regrets about making these films. It’s a learning process. You can’t get it 100% right every time. Some work, some don’t. Its the life. That’s what makes life interesting.
Please tell us about your future projects.
See, for the obscure change. i have to decide I have a nice idea for a web show about black money. There are some movies.there is a continuation of boot police what i want to do All this is for contemplation. However, I prefer to take my time and decide where I want to go rather than jump right into a project.
Why do you want to consider the offer?
When vikram vedas I think once you get the appreciation and enjoyment you get from working with such an intelligent team and charismatic co-stars, the audience will understand what the actors are enjoying. Or you have to be a little careful. I’m still thinking
