Millions of women around the world struggle with infertility every day. I longed for a child. But the second time was not so easy. Unfortunately, this is not uncommon. We are all biologically perfect and believe that our young, healthy bodies should have no trouble producing offspring. But according to the latest figures, 1 in 5 women have trouble getting pregnant. This is another reason why the latest Roe vs. Wade debacle is such a tragedy. IVF is now basically illegal in half the country.

Meirav Zur turned her experience into a pretty great one-woman show, making something purely positive out of her pain and bringing a much-needed spotlight to a subject not as widely discussed as it should be. .

Meira Zur is a very experienced performer and it shows. Her play is balanced, nuanced, expertly informative and very, very funny. She concludes the story of her journey through pregnancy with a delightful song.

It reminded me of a kindergarten teacher rhyming for class…of course these are very grown ups! But that’s the level of charm throughout the show. I’ll explain… It’s a show that has a point, a purpose. For Mayra as much as for the audience. She takes us through it all: doctor visits, tests, hormone shots, disappointments, words of encouragement, and endless advice.

Audiences feel as if we are physically there with each appointment and life lesson. Her performance is so open, honest and genuine.

“Inconceivable” has a lightness that belies its heartfelt message. Meirav treads the line between comedy and documentary with precision and finesse. But every moment is seen through her eyes and is very personal yet neither sad nor brooding.

She keeps reminding me again and again that she already has one beautiful child.

But who can blame her for wanting more love into her life? As a mother myself, our hearts grow with all our children, and as they themselves grow and change, We know you crave to stop time. We miss the sweet milky breath of babies and the stumbling and wondrous giggles of toddlers. I am grown now and I have grandchildren. She fills me with sticky kisses.

Good luck to Maelove and her magical quest. This wonderful, deeply moving show will make many hopeful parents feel more connected and less alone in their journeys. That’s very good!
