The Dry has published a look at the drama by Rosin Gallagher and Kiaran Hinds

Dublin comedy drama The Dry is set to hit BritBox in May this year RadioTimes.com can exclusively reveal two images at a glance from the new show.

Written by award-winning playwright and screenwriter Nancy Harris – whose previous roles include “Our New Girl” and the drama “Dates”, the series will follow Shiv, a woman who tries to stay sober when she returns to Dublin after years of partying in London. .

However, according to the synopsis, returning to your family makes staying on “dry” much harder than Shiv expected.

The main role is played by Roizin Gallagher (Fall), which can be seen in the picture above, which shows how she is present at a meeting – perhaps in a session of Alcoholics Anonymous.

Meanwhile, the image below offers a first look at the other cast members Kiaran Hinds (Belfast) and Poma Boyd (Frank Ireland) who play in Shiva’s parents show.

Gallagher, Hinds and Boyd were joined by Shiabhan Cullen (Origin), Mo Dunford (Vikings) and newcomer Adam Richardson. Meanwhile, Paddy Britnach runs the show, which BritBox describes as “a very touching, funny and refreshing look at how addiction is displayed on screen.”

Speaking about the origins of the series, Harris explained: “The idea of ​​The Dry came to me over the years because, like many people, addiction has affected my life in different ways.

“However, every time I’ve ever seen an addiction presented on screen, it’s always been the most extreme way, like someone in rehab. I was curious to explore the ordinary reality of sobriety. It’s the ordinary reality of life.” – to deal with family, parties, ex – and just can not drink.
