TelevisaUnivision Acquires Rights to Latin American Music Awards from Telemundo

TelevisaUnivision has acquired rights to the Latin American Music Awards (Latin AMA) from Dick Clark Productions. Rival Telemundo has held the broadcast rights since 2015, the year of the first show held in Los Angeles.

TelevisaUnivision says the acquisition will strengthen its position as “the home of Latin music” across linear TV, digital and audio. But the Latin AMA doesn’t get top billing on his Univision network. Instead, its parent company plans to air the 8th Popularity Awards show on sister network UNIMÁS in 2023.
