‘Squid Game’ actor Lee Jung-jae thanks director for ‘bringing life to real-life problems’
Actor Lee Jung-jae became the first Asian actor to win Best Actor in a Drama Series at the 74th Television Academy Awards for his performance in “Squid Game.” He thanked director Hwang Dong-hyuk for bringing real issues to life in such a creative way.
In his acceptance speech, Lee Jung Jae thanked streaming portal Netflix and the Squid Game team. The team, with all 456 players in serious financial trouble, revolves around a contest where they risk their lives to play a series of lethal games for children. Chance to win over 5 billion won.

Most notably, actress Lee Yu-mi took home the gold medal for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series for her role as Ji-yeon in The Squid Game starring Lee Jung-jae at the Emmy Awards.
