Sherni director Amit Masurkar joins as lead jury at India’s only environmental film festival-Entertainment News, Firstpost

Launched in 2020 as a virtual festival, the ALT EFF – All Living Things Environmental Film Festival returns this year with an exciting new line-up of films from around the world. With a strong intention to promote and inspire conversations about nature, conservation and the environment in general, the festival is the brainchild of Kunal Khanna. This year’s festival will feature 55 of his films as part of the lineup, with 33 exclusive Indian premieres.

One of the most exciting developments is the addition of Sherni director Amit Maskerker to the jury this year. Amit’s films deal with wildlife conservation and human-wildlife conflicts, consistent with the festival’s aims. Not only that, this year’s festival will feature first-ever offline screenings of major films in multiple Indian cities, and the festival will be completely free for its virtual leg. It will be held until the 27th.

In Amit’s words: “Climate change is real and today we face the severe consequences of years of environmental degradation. It helps raise awareness and guide public opinion. I’m looking forward to seeing this wonderful movie.”

In Kunal’s Words: “2022 is a big year for ALT EFF. Finally we bring the film to you for face-to-face screenings in your city, while also offering a completely free virtual program to audiences across the country. The steps bring us closer to our mission to make environmental cinema accessible to everyone and to be a catalyst for environmental action.”
