Following the sentencing, Grantham’s attorney told E! News that Grantham “worked hard to turn his life around” after he was arrested.

“But he hopes he can devote the rest of his life to making amends.”
Grantham admitted to shooting his mother in the back of the head while she was playing the piano at home two and a half years ago.
After committing the crime, Grantham filmed a video of himself in which he, then 21, confessed to the murder and filmed his mother’s corpse.
After the March 31, 2020 murders, Grantham was allegedly plotting to kill Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
He loaded the car with three guns, ammunition, 12 Molotov cocktails, camping gear, and a map with directions to Rideau Cottage, where Trudeau lived with his family.
CBC reported at the time that Grantham never made it to Trudeau’s mansion and instead turned himself in to Vancouver Police Headquarters.
On the third and final day of hearings in June this year, Grantham released a statement reflecting his actions in court.
“It breaks my heart to think about how much of my life I’ve wasted,” he said at the time.
“It seems pointless to say sorry in the face of something so horrible. But from every fiber of my being, I am sorry.”
