Raju Srivastava’s daughter writes an emotional note to Amitabh Bachchan:

In an Instagram post shared on Srivastava’s official page, Antara thanked Bachchan for being a source of “strength and support” for her family. “I am very grateful to Uncle Shri @amitabh bachchan for being there for us every day during this difficult time. Your prayers have given us so much strength and support.

“My mother Shika, my brother @aayushmaan.srivastava, my whole family and I @antarasrivastava are forever grateful to you. ” she wrote, along with a picture of her father with the screen legend.

According to Antara, Raju Srivastava had saved Bachchan’s number in his contacts as “Guru ji”. “You are my father’s idol, inspiration, love and guru. You have been in him since the first time he saw you on the big screen.” As well as following you off-screen,” she further said.

While in the hospital, Amitabh Bachchan sent a voice note to Srivastava’s family asking for help with the stand-up artist’s treatment.

“His reaction to hearing your audio clip clearly shows what you meant to him,” Antara added to the post. The day after Srivastava’s death, Bachchan posted a tribute on his personal blog, recalling the cartoon for his “sense of timing and colloquial humor”.

Raju Srivastava was admitted to AIIMS after suffering a heart attack while exercising in a hotel gym in Delhi on 10th August. He was cremated in front of his family and close friends in Delhi last Thursday.

With a career of nearly 40 years in comedy and film, Srivastava starred in Hindi hits such as Maine Pyaar Kiya and Baazigar before gaining national fame as a participant in the 2005 comedy competition show The Great Indian Laughter Challenge. I acted in a movie.

He was also chairman of the Uttar Pradesh Film Development Council.

Raju Srivastava is also survived by his wife Shikha and son Aayushmaan.
