MP Home Minister says Adi Prudeh’s teaser contains ‘offensive scenes’, portrays Hindu deities wrong: ‘Hanumanji wears leather’
Home Minister of Madhya Pradesh Narotham Mishra warned the makers of upcoming Bollywood films on Tuesday. Adiprush Take legal action if scenes showing Hindu religious figures in the “wrong” way are not removed. This film is based on the epic Ramayana.
The first teaser for the movie directed by Om Raut starring Prabhath As Lord Ram Saif Ali Khan as Raven Criti Sanon As Sita, it was released on Sunday at Ayodhya. “I’ve seen the trailer for Adipursh. There are some disturbing scenes in it,” Mishra, who is also a spokesperson for the state government, told reporters. ‘ was unacceptable, he added.
“Hanuman ji is shown wearing leather, but the description (in the scriptures) of the deity’s costume differs…these are scenes that hurt religious sentiments. I am writing to Om Laut asking him to remove it from, if not, I will consider legal action,” Mishra said. He also cited religious texts to support his claims.
The trailer is trolled for its “poor” graphics and costume choices.
Om Raut, who recently won a National Award for his film Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior, will helm the show, with Prabhas as Lord Ram, Sunny Singh as Lakshman, Kriti Sanon as Sita and Saif Ali Khan. Plays Rankesh i Ravan. Adipurush will be released in multiple languages including Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada. The film is also showing in his 3D and IMAX, and hits the big screen next January 12th.
