There’s been a lot of buzz around Mani Ratnam’s epic period action drama, Ponniyin Selvan. Vikram, the main character in this movie, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Sopbhita Dhulipala, Jayam Ravi, Karthi and others. Anticipation has peaked and the film is set to all be released this Friday, but self-proclaimed film critic Umair Sandhu has been exposed by his Suhasini Maniratnam in his fake review. Umair claims to be an “overseas film critic” reviewing top Hindi and Southern films. It is well known that he reviews movies before they are released in India. Audiences often thought he had access to press shows held abroad, but that doesn’t seem to be the case.
Umair Sandhu took control of Twitter on Sept. 27 to share a review of Ponniyin Selvan. he wrote: Great cinematic saga with great production design and VFX! #ChiyaanVikram and #Karthi stole the show all the way. All in all, a decent historical saga with a few twists and moments worth applauding.
In response to the same, Mani Ratnam’s wife Suhasini Maniratnam was to come forward and expose Umer Sandhu. she wrote: What is the access to movies that have not yet been released ”

Well, hats off to Suhashini Maniratnam for clarifying the doubts of the audience who were happy to see the good word spread Vikram, Aishwarya Bachchan and team. But they were worried about the star rating.
Ponniyin Selvan 1, on the other hand, is based on Kalki Krishnamurthy’s 1955 novel of the same name. It is the early story of Arulmojvarman, who later became the great Chola Emperor Rajaraja Chola I.
