By directing Paes to pay a monthly rent of Rs 50,000 in addition to Pilai’s monthly maintenance of Rs 1 lakh, the court, however, said that if she wanted to continue living in their shared residence (in Bandra), she would not be entitled to cash assistance. .

The judge said that since Paes’s tennis career was “almost over”, it would lead to “serious bias” if ordered to live in a rented house and also pay alimony to Pila.
