Hollywood star Kate Winslet He was rushed to a Croatian hospital after an accident while filming the historical drama Lee in Croatia. As a result, filming of the film was temporarily halted. The film is a biopic of Vogue magazine cover model-turned-photographer Lee Miller, who was a major figure in documenting World War II for the iconic magazine. The team is reportedly in Croatia to film a key part of the war sequence, which is where Kate fell and injured herself.
A statement from her rep was shared by entertainment website Deadline. It read, “Kate slipped and was taken to the hospital as a necessary precaution in production. She is fine and she will be shooting this week as planned.”
Lee Miller is considered one of the first to bring the atrocities committed in Nazi concentration camps to the world’s attention through his now-iconic photography. It will be directed by Ellen Crass, who was the cinematographer on Kate’s 2004 film Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.
Lee also stars Marion Cotillard, Jude Law, Andrea Riseborough, and Josh O’Connor. Kate is also working on a movie that is set to finish filming sometime in December, with a tentative release in 2023.
Kate will next appear on screen in a James Cameron movie Avatar: Path of WaterThe actor plays a Na’vi named Ronal who is described as being a pivotal figure in the ongoing storyline. James’ ambitious sequel to his 2009 blockbuster Avatar hits theaters in his December. This marks Kate’s reunion with the filmmaker who directed perhaps her most famous performance in the 1997 classic Titanic.
