John Mulani is known for his musical sketches and was not disappointed when he joined the five-time club on 26 February.

This week the former participant performed even more musical sketches, and was joined by various participants as he sang at a sadly lame dance near the churro grandstand and donned a baseball jersey. Actors from Cecily Strong office Keenan Thompson supported him in hilarious sketches, making his Five-Timer Club episode truly memorable.

Back in March 2020, John laughed The sound of music a bit that included Cecily Strong as Lizzle von Trapp alongside Rolf Gruber. The music followed the sound of the original Julie Andrews the film – which is one of the most iconic films in the history of cinema – but in its own way refers to the melody associated with the huge age difference between the characters of the screen sketches.

“I’m only 19, I know I’m so naive… the guys who meet me tell me I’m cute and I’m willing to believe,” sang Cecily before realizing that John Rolf was a lot older than her. “Are you 33? But do you ride a bike and live with your mother? ” Lizz Cecily asked.

In the late 2000s, John was the author of iconic comedy sketch shows for him to become a dream, but in an interview he admitted it was a childhood dream. “I was having dinner with my mom and saw [the call] was number 212, and I said, “Mom, I’m sorry I’m taking this outside.” And it was Seth Myers and he said, “We want to hire you as a writer,” John recalled, noting that Seth made it clear that he would only write – and not in the cast.

“I agreed on the spot, went back to the restaurant and told my mom and she said,‘ You were 11 years old and you read an article about Conan O’Brien and you said, “I want to be a writer in Harvard lamp and then I want to become a writer Saturday night live. ‘ And you know, at the time I was very excited because I thought you were going to work harder to enroll at Harvard, but even if you didn’t, now you’re in Saturday night live! ” he said, too.
