Jennifer Lopez shares a controversial Valentine video from Ben Affleck: Cute or Surprised?

When the world first learned about it Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez reunitedthere was a lot of joy among gossip fans about the celebrities of the early 2000s.

We guess these are the people Jen meant when she decided to share the four-minute video valentine she received from Ben this week.

The clip is imbued with nostalgia and we’re sure Ben’s heart was in the right place.

But critics have blown up the couple’s latest PDA as a height of resentment, and some have gone so far as to say it is immune to former Ben and Jen.

Sharing the clip, Lopez told fans that it was a gift she usually kept for herself, but was so shocked that she felt she had no choice but to share it.

“It seriously melted my heart,” wrote J. Lo, adding that the video was “something very special and personal to you, which I would normally share only with my close circle …” [a] A gift for Valentine’s Day from Ben.

Ben’s work takes the original music video for Lopez’s song “On My Way” and switches it to sentimental black and white footage of a couple from first the time they met, back in 2002.

The New York Post was particularly caustic on the subject of Ben’s visual love letter, pointing out that for the guy who directed the Best Picture laureate, Affleck’s latest attempt seems extremely amateurish.

What’s worse, in some places it looks a little self-centered: Affleck seems to have chosen photos in which he is very similar to the pensive young artist he imagined himself to be in those days.

And there is the harshest criticism of Ben’s latest production – the claim that it insults the previous relationship between Ben and Jen, including their respective marriages, which resulted in several children.

“And every heartbreak was just a yellow brick road / Showing me straight, just leading me home / I never got lost / I just passed by / I was on my way to you,” Lopez sings in one of the moments of the clip.

Yes, in this context these lines could be vaguely interpreted as a shot at Jennifer Garner or Mark Anthony, the children’s offspring of Affleck and Lopez, who here turn into simple inequalities on the way to true love.

But we doubt it was Ben’s intention.

For many, the situation is reminiscent of recent allegations Affleck accused Garner of his alcoholism in an interview with Howard Stern.

In case you missed it, Ben remarked that he “probably would still drink” if he got married.

“Part of why I started drinking was that I was trapped,” he told Stern.

“I said,‘ I can’t leave because of my kids, but I’m not happy. What should I do? ” And I drank a bottle of scotch tape and fell asleep on the couch, which was not the solution.

Obviously these aren’t the most sensitive comments, but it’s clear that Ben wasn’t going to blame the former for his addiction.

Similarly, Affleck’s last romantic gesture could be interpreted as a bit awkward, but there’s clearly no anger here.

Hey, you all wanted Bennifer 2.0, right?

Well, clutter is part of the fun of any couple on list A, and if you can’t take it, then you’re just nostalgic for a time like never before!
