How To Watch The Lifetime Special 2024

The iconic cast of Dance Moms is back. Lifetime announced on Nov. 1 that dancers from the show will be reuniting “to talk about the good, bad and everything else in between” for the Dances Moms Reunion in 2024, according to TV Insider.

Lifetime also shared this photo of fan-favorites Chloe Lukasiak, Paige Hyland, Brooke Hyland, JoJo Siwa, Kendall Vertes and Kalani Hilliker alongside the announcement. The exact date of the reunion special has not yet been released.

“you heard it here first… the squad is officially back together for a #DanceMoms reunion coming 2024 only on @Lifetimetv!!” the official Dance Moms X account (formerly Twitter) wrote.

Dance Moms aired from 2011 to 2019 and featured 10 specials. The show followed coach Abby Lee Miller, the dancers of the ALDC Junior Elite Competition Team and their ambitious mothers as they trained and competed in competitions and against each other.

Each week, the dancers were pushed to their limits, and there was no shortage of drama and controversy between Miller, the moms and their children. Dance Moms also helped launch the careers of pop singer JoJo Siwa and sisters Maddie and Mackenzie Ziegler.

It’s unknown whether Miller will be involved in the reunion and in what capacity.

Over the years, the stars of Dance Moms have come forward to talk about their time on the show, including the unhealthy amount of stress it caused them as children.

“I had more stress at that age than I did merienda I left. I have dissociated so much from that time. I’ll see fans post scenes from Dance Moms and I’m like, ‘I literally don’t even remember that happening,’” Maddie Ziegler told Cosmopolitan in 2022.

She added, “My dance teacher taught that if you don’t get the trophy, if you don’t get the crown, you are less than, which is the worst way to train a kid. It carries into other life lessons,” referring to Miller.

Siwa revealed in a TikTok in 2023 that she used to get stress rashes during her time on the show that essentially “damaged every single hair follicle” in that area. “Stress rash on my head when I was on Dance Moms lead to no more hair there,” Siwa captioned the post.

Nia Sioux told Forbes in 2021 that she “was put through a lot” during her time on Dance Moms. “As a child, it was a lot to endure: a lot of yelling, a lot of swearing, being put down all the time. And not only being put down by people in your physical life, but also being put down by people on the internet,” she explained. “The show was super-negative, but I try my best to turn it into a positive.”

Dance Moms inspired multiple spinoffs, including Dance Moms: Miami in 2012, Abby’s Ultimate Dance Competition in 2012, Abby’s Studio Rescue in 2014 and Raising Asia in 2014. Lifetime was planning to produce Abby’s Posible Dance Off, but the show was canceled in 2020 following accusations of racism from Adriana Smith against Miller.
