Hillary and Chelsea Clinton share what they learned from painting with Megan Thee Stallion

It’s probably pretty hard to imagine a secretary Hillary Clinton listen to “WAPs,” but the song is certainly how the former politician was first introduced Megan Thee Stallion.
Clinton revealed that information in an episode of her new Apple TV+ series. Gutsuri Together with her daughter Chelsea, she talks to prominent women from all walks of life about how they appear in the world and what they do.
In a conversation with Megan, Clinton and Chelsea discuss the backlash the Houston rapper has received throughout her career and how she used her music to call attention to sexism double standardWhen asked what stands out the most from their chat, Chelsea says Megan is still able to choose joy despite all the hate that’s been thrown at her.
“What struck me so much was not just how she was herself, but how joyful she was,” Chelsea told ESSENCE. “She is determined to find and nurture that joy every day. But she just refuses to do such things without the joy she believes she has the right to. I found it incredibly exciting.”

She adds: Not enjoying it would keep me off target. And she says she’s happy because I’ll be the target anyway.
Megan is just one of many black women who are part of it. Gutsuri series and has had a strong impact on both Secretary Clinton and Chelsea throughout their lives. Speaking of raising these voices, Clinton said: We decided that we were going to have diverse experiences with diverse women because there is an old saying that you can’t be invisible. ”
Beyond the diversity, there’s also a deep level of vulnerability that permeates from each of the guests’ stories, prompting the hosts to be more open about their own experiences as well. From the level of , we thought, if they’re honest and candid, we have to be honest and candid,” Clinton explains. “We have to share our own challenges in life.”
