Hal Bailey, who plays Ariel in the live-action remake of The Little Mermaid, has released the first poster for the film, thanking her for the opportunity.

Like Ariel, Bailey let her red hair flow back and showed a picture of herself looking up at the sky from beneath the waves. Her tail glistens in the sunlight shining into the sea.
Bailey tweeted, “Words cannot express how excited I am to be playing the mermaid of my dreams, Ariel, in Disney’s The Little Mermaid. In theaters May 23 and 22, 2023. Come under the water with me, said the year-old singer and actress.
Disney has released the first sneak preview of the upcoming live-action movie in September. The teaser opens with a breathtaking shot of marine life, making our first appearance as Bailey as the mermaid princess and her Ariel.
She glides effortlessly across the water and swims to get a good look at the sun. After hearing Bailey sing her “Out of the Sea…” audiences can finally see Ariel’s face, along with her signature auburn hair .
Bailey continues his heartfelt words from the 1989 animated version of the legendary Part of Your World song. Bailey announced the completion of principal photography on the film in July 2021 through her Instagram post featuring her in her ocean at sunset.
She said, “I’m so lucky to be able to see this film in all its grandeur… not only to experience self-doubt, but to be away from everyone and everything I’ve ever known.” Experiencing that kind of release and determination has been the most difficult journey.Because I have achieved the finish.”The experience so far has made me stronger than I ever imagined.
The Chloe x Halle musician spoke to PEOPLE last month about portraying the legendary part of Ariel. hopes young audiences will appreciate her interpretation of the iconic story as well.
