Dwayne Johnson denied rumors he’d run for president

In the first peak of this weekend’s CBS Sunday Morning interview, the 50-year-old actor spoke with host Tracy Smith about his long-standing interest in running for president. He said it was gone.

This requires the inside out, Johnson explained. So he would say: As a citizen, I care about my fellow Americans and America. Being a parent is one of the greatest joys of my life.

Johnson said being a great father to his three daughters Simone, 21, Jasmine, 6, and Tiana, 4, is a top priority.

Especially now that I see my daughters going through such formative years. I recognize the importance of being present in her life at this time when she needs me the most.

As president, I see this happen. The health of my children, especially her two daughters, is my top priority. Of course, I’d love to win the CEO position, but being a father is my priority.

In 2021, PEOPLE magazine named an actor the number one reason to love America. The actor told the magazine that he was honored to be chosen by the Americans as the person they want to lead this country. This followed a poll that showed 46% of people would vote for Johnson in the presidential election.

A half-black, half-Samoan kid, he knew that perseverance would open doors in the United States, so he could work his butt well. He was happy with this opportunity. He expressed this sentiment to PEOPLE at the time. So in many ways, this is due to the greatness of our country.

“I’m not a politician and I’ve never had a political passion,” Johnson said. And to be completely honest, I don’t know if there is any resignation or tolerance to deal with all the BS that comes with politics and politicians. When they say they want it, I have no choice but to stand up, listen respectfully, and take notes.
