Disney Plus’ first impressions of ‘Andor’ arrived ahead of its release date

Andor
Disney’s handling of Star Wars, after a series of ups and downs in the movies, and soon on Disney Plus as well, has to catch up compared to the MCU’s well-oiled machine.
Now, following The Mandalorian, Boba Fett’s book, and Obi-Wan Kenobi, a dramatically different type of series is coming to Andor on September 21st.
I never thought of a story where one man from Rogue One would justify an entire spinoff prequel series, but once the trailer started rolling out it looked incredible. There are early impressions from people who have seen the , and they rave about it.
I think the way these work now is that the critics picked a certain number of episodes, four in this case. Posting thoughts on social media is then allowed. rotten tomato No score yet.
But these impressions from a wide range of critics shine through for what Andor is doing, the grounded and highly political series that makes Star Wars. about Something. And this time it’s very clear.
Andor stands out for its practical use of sets and effects compared to the CG weight of many current Star Wars projects, including entire cities built for production.
Disney Plus won big with The Mandalorian, but The Book of Boba Fett was downgraded significantly, and Obi-Wan Kenobi seems to have landed somewhere in the middle. It may be another triumph along the lines of , but one with the darker edge we found in Rogue One, and many would argue it’s the best of the new Star Wars movies. Sith conflict.
Unlike the MCU, Disney’s series of projects are generationally challenging throughout Star Wars history.Andor takes place pretty close to the beginning of A New Hope after Kenobi, but well before The Mandalorian and the next Ahsoka. Previous Events in Andor. So some series will be connected but others will not. Andor is in a slot that doesn’t seem to be one of the many cameos of a past figure we’ve seen in things like Rogue One itself, but it’s more of a good thing than another glimpse of Darth Vader. Interested in. Or Skywalker. And that seems to be the way we are going.
Andor premieres next Wednesday. Please wait until the actual review is removed.
