Benedict Cumberbatch plays amazing Melvin in ‘Doctor Strange 2’ concept art

Newly released concept art Doctor Strange in the Mad Multiverse by artist Darrell Warner reveals that Benedict Cumberbatch is a bizarre variant named Marvelous Melvin.

Before Sam Raimi became a director Doctor Strange in the Mad MultiverseMichael Waldron joined him as the film’s screenwriter, doctor strange Director Scott Derrickson was set to return for a sequel scripted by Jade Bartlett.

The original version of the film included the street magician Marvelous Melvin, a variant of Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange.

Darrell Warner’s concept art shows what Benedict Cumberbatch looked like in the original version as Marvelous Melvin Doctor Strange in the Mad Multiverse.

This image shows Stephen Strange’s version of Benedict Cumberbatch. It was a piece that we completed very early on,” Warner said of the design.

It was not picked up in the end, but Doctor Strange in the Mad MultiverseMarvelous Melvin’s concept art has been named a finalist in the “Live Action Feature Character” category at this year’s Concept Art Association Awards.
