Seven nets In Australia, this week will begin the broadcast of “Police Strike Force”, a documentary series created in close partnership with the police of New South Wales. A series of 6 × 60 minutes is produced WTFN and licensed internationally Fred Media. The premiere on Channels 7 and 7plus from Wednesday shows real police investigations, bites and operations of the task force. The stories are told by the men and women who initiated each case, and are richly illustrated with video and audio recorded by police media, combined with video footage of surveillance, searches, and interviews conducted by investigative units. WTFN also recently released a sister show “Code 1: Minute by Minute” with eight parts, also for Seven. Each episode tells the story of one criminal incident, including an incident that covers the tragedy of Melbourne’s Bourke Street Mall in 2017, when a man killed six people by deliberately ramming his car in a busy mall. – Patrick Frater

UK broadcaster Channel 5 ordered two dramas from Clappersa subsidiary of Chalkboard on the script, will air in 2022. “Desperate Measures (4 x 60”), in collaboration with an international distributor Eccho Rights, follows diligent bank clerk Rowan, who commits a dangerous robbery at the bank where she works to pay off her son’s debts to the gang. Helen Ostler (“The Last Kingdom”) is the producer, and Anthony Phillipson (“Our Girl”) will direct the series. “Winter Child” (4 x 60), created in collaboration with Chapter one and Endevor Content, follows Claudia, a single mother and school nurse whose chance to become a hero is when a young child in her community disappears. Jules Sandler (“White House Farm”) – screenwriter, Cormac Fox (“Animals”) – producer and Dominic Leclerc (“Teacher”). Endeavor Content is involved in the worldwide distribution of the title outside the UK. Filming of both series will begin in 2022.
