2022 CFDA Fashion Awards nominees and winners announced

It’s just that time of year when all your fashion favorites get flowers: The CFDA has officially released a list of celebrities and designers who will be honored at this year’s awards ceremony. The festivities will be held on Monday, November 7th at Casa Cipriani in New York City. As well as spotlighting the fashion industry heavyweight, the event celebrates his 60th anniversary of his CFDA. For fashion, Joseph Altuzarra, Gabriella Hirst, Aurora JamesLazaro Hernandez, Jack McCollough (of Proenza Schouler), and Amazon Fashion.

This year’s festivities kick off with the Lenny Kravitz CFDA nominating Fashion Icon of the Year 2022 and presenting the late Off-White and LV men’s designer Virgil Abloh with a Board Award. This year’s American Womenswear Designer of the Year nominees are Peter Doe and Christopher John Rogers. Lacan Smith, KHAITE, etc. Menswear Designer of the Year includes Thom Browne, Bode, Fear of God’s Jerry Lorenzo and Willy Chavarria. Another exciting category is Accessory Designer of the Year. Brother Vellies, Telfar Clemens, Brandon Blackwood and Raul Lopez (of Luar) are just a few of the influential accessory designers nominated this year.

The CFDA will also announce a Stylist of the Year Award, with Law Roach expected to be the first recipient. The United Nations is also on the list of recipients of the Environmental Sustainability Award awarded to UN Deputy Secretary-General Amina J. Mohammed. Also, to mark his 60th anniversary of the CFDA, longtime member Jeffrey Banks will be presented with his one-off Special Anniversary Award.

This year has been a special one for CFDA, and the nominees and winners reflect that, with fashion’s most influential leaders receiving awards. You can expect additional prizes and announcements as the event gets closer.
